rage against the rage in poetry

Back before everything became so dire
before there were actual Nazis in charge to fight
it would’ve been fun to all dress up in robot costumes
and pretend to protest outside
of a Rage Against The Machine show
as the Machine Anti-Defamation League
make up some signs, make up a load
make some of the signs in binary code
it would be so goshdamn clever
it would be such a silly waste of time
I miss back when America wasn’t under siege
I miss back when things were at least
comparatively fine
it was okay to be silly
back then.
