Indeed. in A small but passable life.

I finished reading “The Kingdom of Speech” by Tom Wolfe. An interesting overview on the phenomena for sure.

Wednesday I walked downtown to the library to return the book. I also ordered two more books and checked on the status of the Clive Barker book. I’m number fifty something on the list.

It was a pleasant day for a walk. And these last two days have turned colder. But the forecast says it is going to be sixty degrees on Sunday. Nice.

I received an email today from the library saying that the two books I ordered are now waiting for me to pick up. So, that looks like something I could do, maybe first thing Monday morning.

I’m only scanning the news headlines now. I refuse to read further. It is probably not possible to make sense of the stupendous idiocy anyway. I’ll just sit here and look out the window. So far everything looks the same out there. Copacetic.

I finally figured out what that mass high up in the tree across the intersection probably is. I found out by accident, by seeing a video posted of a squirrel building such a structure. I had never seen or noticed that before. Odd how one can experience something new like that. A squirrel nest, up in a tree like a bird nest. I’d always thought they nested in attics or hollow trees. I never said I knew everything.

I had a thought on the weirdness of life. I realized that not quite a decade ago I was sharing my bed with a twenty-three year old Micronesian princess and now a wee dog gets to claim that privilege.

What a long strange trip. Indeed.
