all this wandering in poetry

I’ve lived in the land of fire and sand
I’ve lived in the lands of ice and snow
I’ve learned there’s no salting the sun
there’s no shoveling flames doncha know
you can’t hunker down from the noonday
you can’t wrap up until you don’t burn
so I guess I’ll take the ice over fire
though that’s about all I have learned
