Berlin tonight ….. in The odd entries from life …….

I had a phone call from my Sister at bed time, she told me they were ok, for a moment I was last – then it came back, her elder son, Daughter in law and grandson were in Berlin for the Christmas Markets, a lorry had driven in to a market killing nine.

Once they rang home my Sister felt better, their sons family were in a other market, Berlin is a large city and there are many Christmas Markets to visit. I’ve been to Cologne three times and you can walk from market to market, I’ve been to Berlin and you need a taxi to get around.

I like Germany and I tried to learn German, I didn’t do very well, on one trip I took two cameras, a small digital camera and a 1930’s Ziess Ikon folding camera, a German noticed the old camera; he had no English and I no German – all we could is shake hands and smile!
