cat's cradle in poetry

art is the act of holy flim-flam
the craft of the well-intended lie
the equal child of shaman and con man
if you believe that there’s a real
difference between those two kind of guys
preacher and trickster
cut-purse and saint
you may claim distinction
I say there ain’t
and maybe there shouldn’t be
I’ve been known to hold both opinions
depends what day you ask me
