‘this is not time to trip on a step!’ in The odd entries from life …….

Today – Saturday – we had the Minces Pie Morning to on the day before The carol Service, we and other who come have tea or coffee and minces pie’s, there is a stall sealing home made foods and things people have donated and a raffle; this morning wasn’t a morning to encored people out unless there was something to get them; there wasn’t much to get people on our wet and dull Saturday morning.

So those who donated bought and won them back to that pool of people, it worked well for me as there was a small Christmas Cake on sale, so I had a home made cake made by some one I know well; so I had a rich dark Christmas Cake – rather than making or buying a cake at a cost of three or four times.

With the event over the ladies settled down to arranging the flowers, and my wire star was passed on to Wendy, all see Wendy as the best flower arranger in the Church; I was very happy about that. Now and then I popped in to see the progress, each visit I could see the star looking better, until it was finished. It was job to place the finished star in place, that was on razed stage where some ministers lead our services; all I could think is ‘this is not time to trip on a step!’

It was a real thrill to stand back and look at the finished Star, as it will be in the morning ……………
