Give me credit........... in blackpropaganda

Second of the day!

I achieved a lot this morning - I called in to one of the depots that specialise in tyres, batteries etc and asked about a new battery for the car - I have been aware that it has just about survived the last few winters - but cannot trust it - so my only concern was that I did not know the code to reactivate the radio if it was disconnected. No problem, they said, and before I knew it it was in getting a new battery. Actually they had a problem in fitting so I went off to have coffee and meet my card person - and pay her for some excellent work.
Before going back to get the card I though I would set up a hearing examination since I think my hearing is getting worse - so into Specsavers - and that is setup - and then on to a high street bank where we have a joint account to apply for a credit card.
I have one from another bank where I do not have an account (got when there were offering rewards) - but I experienced a problem with this hiring a car in Spain in October, and while SW… has a credit card with our bank I don’t - actually we have an account with another bank too.
You have to spend half an hour being taken through the ins and outs of credit etc etc - luckily yhe customer service lady was free and I was straight in. On we went as she read out all the stuff I need to know and agree to - all going well until - I was refused!!!! My credit rating was not good enough.
Hey - come on - never late with payments - none outstanding - what is this.
But that was it - but I could get a credit rating report from Experian - and there was a 30 day free trial - and she suggested I see what the problem was.
So I set up my 30 day trial when I got home - put in all the information - and guess what - I had the top rating -999.
I rang the branch and left a message for her to get back to me - which she did late in the afternoon - busy woman - and she worked out where the problem was - she had the wrong address - how you ask? I guess she wrote it in wrong - although she did not admit that.
So tomorrow I go back - and we should get it sorted.
Now I know how people feel who sind they are not credit worthy and do not know why - you are powerless - the system says NO!
