so on our 6th day which was Thurs. we. well we ate at a patisserie. My mom ordered chai for me but they didn’t have chai on the menu which.well i knew. The lady viven brought me coffee. and i knew it was coffee from tasting it. so i got raspberry tea and a muffin.

So while we were in the patisserie. We talked to a nice guy. well my mom did most of the talking. We talked about shows and history and our vacation so far. he was quiet. i think maybe he was from scotland or yorkshire bc of his accent. he couldn’t believe we came all the way to London just to see shows. [well ok not just to see shows. but that was the main thing we did].

So after we ate we went to see aladdin. the show not the person. and on our way we passed a day of the dead skeleton window display. so that was cool. So we went and saw ‘aladdin’. it.it wasn’t good but it was fun. and funny and the ending was good. the set was cool i liked that.
it was better than that stupid lion king show. [sorry nothing against anyone who likes that lion king show i just personally don’t. i don’t relate to it and also i don’t like the humour].
and then of course we went to waitrose the grocery store and back to the flat.

and that was day 6.

So on our 7th day which was also our last day which was Fri. We.went to hyde park. to the peter statue. i love it there it’s my fave place in all of London. i’m so happy there. like it’s a must-see if you’re me. The first time i went was last yr. and i was just as happy. there were roses there this yr. probably a memorial to........well i don’t know who. and right across from the statue is the river. w/ the swans and the ducks in it. and it’s just so nice. oh and there are pigeons there too.

so after. we went to the statue and the river w/ the swans and the ducks in it. We walked around a bit. and we saw the parrots. and they were up in the trees and then they came down to the ground. so that was super cool. One of the parrots liked the sticks from the tree and so i got one and was going to give it to him but when I was maybe 3 ft. away he flew away. well they’ll do that those birds.

after which.we left the park and ate again at Pret A Manger. [or as i call it pret la manher]. and walked to the.to Selfridge’s. where. we passed a giant metal shoe inside a building. According to the sign thingy the shoe was made from stainless steel pans, lids and cement and it’s by joanna vasconcelos for those who want to look it up. so that was cool.

and then we went to Selfridge’s. yes the store they recently made a tv show about. the tv show on pbs. We’d gone there before last yr. too. The window displays were better last yr. This yr. they had like a spotlight. a big one. i think maybe they’re called footlights. and the light that was shooting out of it was made of colored wires. Their theme was ‘always be open’ it wasn’t v. interesting. in the other windows they had mannequeins wearing clothes and santa. santa on gold skis santa w/ a boombox santa wearing sunglasses. and they had little deer type creatures pink and green ones.

so. I again got to see the original entrance to/of the store. which i liked. last yr. i saw one of the original doors and that was cool. i like.history.

We walked around it and saw more santas.and mannequins and lights. in one of the windows there was a table set. and in another one was a blue poodle not an actual one. and an entire tiny suitcase just for socks. ‘come fly w/ me’ was playing from that window and that was nice also cause we got to listen to sinatra.

We took the bus to Harrod’s. where there were more window displays. again the ones last yr. were better. Harrod’s was all lit up just like it was the first time i’d gone there which was back when i was 18. [i’m 29 now btw]. In the window there was a little townhouse w/ its lights on and trees all made entirely of paper. i liked that bit but as for the displays themselves they weren’t all that interesting. They had a blue fox made out of paper and in another one they had a big rat type thign. in another one they had a white squirrel made entirely...........from...........paper.

oh so. when we were done at Harrod’s in the town square thing there was this street performer dressed as the original sherlock holmes. [i guess apparently there’s more than one]. he had this bubble wand that he waved around that produced well bubbles. and that was just delightful.

so we went again back to waitrose and then the flat where i wrote in the lady’s guestbook.

and the next day which was Sat. we flew on a v. long plane ride back to denver. my dad picked us up and drove me back to my house er the house and he and my mom to my mom’s.

what a good vacation we had.
