the mysteries in poetry

remember as you wander
wondering at the stars
you’re not watching where they are
you’re observing in the place
those fireballs used to be
back when they set those photons free
ten million something years ago
where they are now I don’t know
like everything our context
is constrained by the speed of light
it doesn’t make it any less grand
but it’s something to reflect on
as you stare off into
the mysteries of the night
