Good timing... in These titles mean nothing.

… for the new Prosebox.
It’s the third day of Thanksgiving day weekend so I have time on my hands.
And like LBH yesterday suggested, I want to write an entry to see what it was I wrote other years on this day. I wonder if I’ve written enough here that there will be an entry for every day? I somehow doubt it. I have been a casual writer here. I go away for long periods and almost forget to come back.
I remember when I started here while the OP was still going and I felt that this would be a place I would write when I felt like it. That it would not be an obligation and that’s pretty much what it’s been. OP was a part of my life. PB is more a place I can drop by when I feel like it.
But now I want to come back. I want to see what I might have written in the past. Since my history is right here I find my self regretting not being a more careful record keeper. I think of the entries I didn’t write here. Right now the one in my mind is my post election wrapup. I never did do that. For a whole bunch of good and bad reasons.
I have an eighty day streak going right now in 750 words. I’ve been treating them pretty casually since I missed a day in May of 2004? I think it was. I had written everyday for a year and was approaching the 500 day mark when I just totally forgot about it one day. Since then I write or I don’t write there. Since you ‘have’ to write 750 words for it to ‘count’ it’s a different kind of commitment than either of the public diaries. Plus you write whatever you want. You are not writing for anyone but you. It’s a different game.
Though all on line writing counts up. I was finding myself on 750 words paging back - laboriously, they do not have an easy way of finding what you wrote on a given day. I would page back to see what I wrote, if anything, one year ago, two years ago, three years ago. I would find interesting and boring stuff. My life indeed.
Ironic that PB has come up with the same idea only it’s easy to see what was written (and lived) a year or two or three ago.
Not sure that Simple needs a suggestion but 750 words does have a search feature. You can do a text search and come up with all the entries in which you used a given piece of text.
Writing programs, social media, etc. etc. are all alive and all different. They all give us world wide links and they all give us insights into ourselves. We are free to use them however we wish to. We get to make our own lives in these frameworks. I for one am grateful for the opportunity.
So thanks.
