Today I am grateful for....boxes!
I got the email....the one that said the mortgage has been approved!!!!!! Now just waiting on final inspection and then....then it’s MINE! (Well, as of Dec 5th). I decided to start packing today.
I got 90% of the living room- which was cd’s, books, dvds, knick knacks, candles, etc- done. And I got my shoes packed (2 large boxes worth. I have inherited my mother’s shoe problem. Which is ironic, since i hated shopping as a kid?? Granted, most of mine are thrift shop buys…) so, about 10% of the bathroom is done. Plus, I went through all of my jeans and tried on every pair and separated them into “fits now” “keep in case I lose 20lbs” “goodwill” and “trash” piles.
I am totally sneezy now from all of the dust flying. Seriously, I never dust and I have birds and cats. The dander in my nose right now could probably kill someone. oi.
I also am getting rid of a bunch of shoes that I just never, ever wear. So instead of three boxes, it’s only 2, lol.
What else, what else....I stopped by both wine stores today and got two trunks full of those boxes, plus I had half a dozen big boxes that I brought home from work a few weeks ago in anticipation, and a friend dropped off a bunch of dinky little boxes that will be good for knick knacks and such but not much else. Maybe bathroom stuff. Jewelry and whatnot.
I am dreading the kitchen, mostly cuz it means I have to finally do the dishes. LOL.
My goal for the new year is to try and become a better housekeeper. I am hoping, now that I will actually have a HOUSE, that I will take better care of it. I took good care of my one apartment that was nice, but when I live in crappy apartments, I slack. But with a house, I can contain the mess to my bedroom and hopefully keep the rest tidy? That’s my goal at least. And I’m going to wrap plastic around the bird cage so that they don’t make such a god awful mess everywhere, I hope. It won’t be so bad at the new place, cuz they’ll be on wood-like floors. Non carpeted. Getting bird feathers out of the carpet is a pain in the ass.
Woot Woot. I am getting a hoooouuuuuseeeeeee!
I am part excitement, part dread (at moving in December), part exhausted, and part plain old giddy!
So glad I have therapy tomorrow so I can tell J!
