she dreams of lacking internal contradiction
she dreams of no longer being legion
she dreams of possessing not a single paradox
she dreams of no longer changing with the seasons
she dreams of not being misunderstood
she labours under the belief
that any of those things would be good
she dreams of a day when she’d be pure
she dreams of a day when she’d never be unsure
but without the heat of that conceptual friction
we’d freeze up inside as cold as fiction
and despite all that she’s been told to feel
if that actually came true
she’d be so much less for it
