I made it out of my box today. I was outside of my apartment by 8:5o this morning. I sat on the bench and waited for my case manager. She came a little bit early. First stop was the bank. I got my Social Security check leaving $150 in for Comcast. Then we went to Gumby’s I bought to cartons of cigars for Chocolatechip. I bought three for myself. My order came to $36.55 From Gumby’s we went to the dreaded Wal Mart store.

My case manager went with me so that was nice. First stop was the service desk. I put another $23 on my debit card. This came to $3.21 Then we went shopping. I bought fourteen Homestyle Bakes and a frozen pizza. I also bought a box of pancake mix a can of Maxwell House Coffee and a case of pop and a tub of Blue Bonnet butter. Then we went to the check out line. My order from Wal Mart was $78 something. Not too bad since I set aside $150 for food. I am all set for food this month

On the way back we stopped at the new Dairy Queen. I bought a large strawberry milkshake. Then we went home. I unloaded my groceries and put them away. I had a good outing but I was glad to be back home.

I did all right at Wal Mart. I was a tad bit anxious but it was bearable. What helped was my case manager was with me. I did not pay any attention to other people in the store. I did not feel like people were watching me. I knew what I was going to get and went about my business. I didn’t have to look all over the store I went about my business and went in and got back out. Best part of the deal was I didn’t have to wait up there for a ride home.

Now all I have to worry about is doctor’s appointment. I have a doctor’s appointment Monday on the 7th. I can handle these appointments. I only have four of them this month plus a therapist appointment on the 28th. Then I am going to go vote on the 8th Other than these appointments and the voting I do not have to go out again this month. I can handle that. OH I forgot we are going to the Thanksgiving dinner at the Senior Center. So that will be six outings this month. I can handle this.

Like I said I put $23.00 on my debit card. I had $25 on it from my last load. After I put away my groceries and returned the grocery cart I gout out my NOOK. I promptly bought two more ebooks. I bought two novels this time. Arundel and Rabble in Arms by Kenneth Roberts. This makes five books I bought this month. Perhaps I need to cut down on these purchases. I was thinking no wonder I go broke at the end of the month.

Well books and reading are my passion. I was talking to Chocolatechip yesterday. I was telling her if I could walk like I used to I would walk to the library I’d check out books from the library. We were talking and I was saying I used to walk to the library almost every day. I would read or get on their computers. I’d stay there almost all day. I was saying I miss being able to walk and get around. I miss checking books out of the library.

Now I have a NOOK I love it. it is the next best thing to going to libraries or book stores. I can browse books to my hearts content It never closes and so long as I have the money I can buy books anytime. I swear it is the best thing I ever bought.

I do not think I overspend on ebooks. LIke I keep saying I always have money for rent. I always have money for Comcast. I always have money for food and meds. What extra money I have goes to books. I love to read.
