Our Halloween décor is still waiting for reinstallation. The biggest advantage of living in a condo is that they have to fix the insides of the walls. Replacement of fascia and the top cap on one balcony revealed quite a termite mess. (Photos later.)

Not only was the façade of the balcony crumbling, the 2X4’s on the inside of the walls had been reduced to powder. The main cross stringer that went into the condo next door was crumbling also. The ceiling below this balcony had showed water damage since we moved in. Now we know why.

To the tapping of hammers, I will be cutting out pieces for the “weed blocks.” G is Auditing and Subrogating wrecks this morning. Every once in a while he dashes over to the balcony door with camera in hand.

  • Himself: Gym before dawn. Looking forward to NCIS tonight.
  • Herself: Pool, cut, read, lunch, cut, read, cook, NCIS>
  • 52 Week House Reorganization: Taking two bags of good stuff to the Discovery Shop.
  • Reading: An early Mayor, “Occam’s Razor” is excellent reading.
  • Gratitudes: That the hot tub was working this morning, that we don’t have to pay to reconstruct more than one wall, that the sun is out and the day is cool.
