Worse or Worser? in A small but passable life.

Well, today is the day. A vote for worse or worser? Works Word redlined worser. I like it. It stays.
I took a few days to read two new novels and got severely behind on my bookmarks here on prosebox. It took a couple of hours this morning to get caught up.
I read “The Girl from Venice” by Martin Cruz Smith and “The Whistler” by John Grisham. Both very good stories. And that makes twenty books read for the year so far. One of my slowest years yet.
When I picked up those two books from the library I ordered two non-fiction. And I just received an email saying one has arrived. So I may be going to fetch it this morning.
The Millenials residing here have voted early this morning.
Me? My last presidential vote was for Ross Perot. I’m way past done.
There is a huge bag of Panera bagels sitting on the dining room table that was rescued from the dumpster this morning. They’ll be taken to the homeless day hangout at the Veteran’s Center.
Daughter is now an overnight baker at Panera. Probably the most valuable position in the store. And Daughter’s boyfriend started training for the same position last night. They’ll be working different stores but the same hours, eventually. All good.
I’m not regretting not spending the previous thirty days in the woods. I had the feeling that the month would probably be too warm and it was. The weather just now turned rainy and cool. October never had a cool night.
Mom called and said her new porch is under construction. She is replacing the two individual steps with a long narrow deck-like piece. It should be nice. I just hope she can still fit both her car and her golf cart in the carport. The original plans for just rebuilding and recovering the two steps was $1100. With this additional work, who knows? She’s got the money so no biggie.
The only thing left on her list is a new stove and frig and new countertops. Those are all fine, but old, so obviously something to piss away her money on. Whatever.
I’m now logging in to prosebox.com. I guess it is necessary. At least the site owner seems to want to keep the community alive. The question does remain though, how to monetize an anonymous site? Bruce never did figure it out for OD.
So yeah. 10:46am now. I’ll peruse a few news feeds and drink this third and last cup of coffee and then head out. It is nice and cool and overcast out there. Perfect walking weather. I may even wear my toque. Oh yeah.
