Thumper in Flaming June

I’m not great at deferred gratification, but I’ll just have to deal with it. Yesterday I paid a deposit on the suzuki. I’ll pick it up next week.
This is what’s known as a thumper. That’s because it has just the one cylinder, a big, thumping 650cc cylinder. Apart from that, the bike is fairly lean, stripped back of most of its bodywork, quite light and tidy for the city, and it should also cope with some off road trails up into the hills.
It’s good to be back here in Spain, enjoying the blue skies and not thinking too much. Perhaps at some point I’ll tell the story of the remaining ageing parent in England, and how to grapple with narcissism and dementia.
But probably I’ll just ride the thumper up and down hills for a while in the winter sunshine.
I’ll be 55 next year, there’s not much time to waste.

The bike does get good reviews, I suppose it's kind of a 2nd bike for me, we're here for the winter, maybe beyond that maybe not.
I do have all the gear, and the mantra is 'all the gear all the time' to include boots, gloves, kevlar-reinforced jacket and I also have a high-vis jacket which is also an airbag - so if you come off at speed it inflates and protects your vital organs. It gets hot here wearing all that gear though, I must say.
So - are you into bikes? What do you ride?

I look forward to your take on narcissism and dementia, I never was quite able to get a handle on it.

Lean is a good look for a city bike/off road.
