there are those who would be driven
cruel crazy and weird by the
assurances of bedrock faith
picture us agnostics as dry drunks
in the face of comforting madness
if I was sure of anything
I would probably be a zealot
if I knew anything in full

so we store up hope like dromedaries
loping through the desert of doubt
until something big comes
to sort it all out
I could not pass through that test
this is for the best
