In case you’ve been living under a rock
technology has advanced
we can now live under a roof.
In case you’ve been living under a rock
if a rolling stone gathers no moss
there’s no way someone can take a lichen to it
In case you’ve been living under a rock
thirty-or-so years ago the Beatles split up
did the Beatles break because
an era was ending anyway bespoke or
did the era end because the Beatles broke?
Did they both occur at some shared point
of dissonant coincidence was tipping?
or was it some rich entanglement like
distant atoms strangely flipping?
either way it left us all alone
with just the mummies of the Stones.
In case you’ve been living under a rock
technology has advanced
we can now live under a roof.
Though some argue
it was actually a step back
