The following are separate mechanisms:

  • Arousal
  • Erection
  • Ejaculation
  • Orgasm

I feel like this should be common knowledge, and something I’ve said before, but it deserves reiterating. One can be in one state in absence of one or all of the others. You can be aroused without being erect. (Impotence. It happens.) You can be erect without being aroused. (Morning wood.) You can ejaculate without orgasm. (Oh man. It happens if your timing is completely off. Not to mention prostate stimulation.)

And then there’s those who orgasm when the sneeze. Defies logic, but it happens. Okay, that’s an oddball example. Boys can orgasm without being fully erect. Not to mention younger boys can orgasm sans ejaculation.

All separate. Inter-related, yes. But separate. There’s your lesson for the day. Carry on.

(While stiff clits are a very real thing, feel free to interchange “erection” with “vaginal lubrication”. Hey, stuff happens. You can be aroused but not wet. And that’s okay. Squirt some lube and get to business.)
