Three months now. in A small but passable life.

I really need to stop thinking about this upcoming election. An election with the two worst candidates in American history can have no good outcome.
The weather continues to be hot and humid. The yard is becoming impossible to keep up with. Early in the morning it is too wet to now. By evening it is too hot to even want to spend the half hour out there to now it.
It's been three months since I've left the desert. When I talk with Mom on the phone she sounds well. From what I've seen checking in on her bank account it looks like she's been going out several times a week to spend money somewhere. I guess it's good that she's still driving. It's what she wanted. Fine, until she wrecks the car, again.
I still haven't gone through my footlocker. I did go through my briefcase and decided that most of the contents could be packed away into the footlocker. FIN.
I found the last statement from social security. The last one from when I was working eight years ago. If I manage to stay alive for four more years I think I'll take whatever is offered.
I did manage to get out of the house and past the yard last Thursday. I walked to the credit union and the library downtown. I had to take a shower when I got back home. Which of course upset the whole "shower every Sunday no matter what" routine. Oh well, such is life. I didn't shower Sunday, yesterday, and am wondering if I should wait now for this coming Sunday. I'm going to need to crawl under the van to change the oil sometime before Friday so maybe I'll shower after that. Probably.
I'm still reading the history of philosophy book. I'm up to the second and third centuries now and the new christian cult has thoroughly botched everyone's thinking up. And here we are, two millennia later, with this religious mental illness still impeding the progress of our species.
The aliens will come and investigate and come to the proper conclusion that it was superstition and greed that killed us off.
Edit:
Well, that didn’t work fer shit. I typed that on my Nextbook 8 tablet after scribbling it in my handwritten journal. We’ll call it a failed experiment. And no, I’m not gonna fix it.
