I think I just witnessed child abuse. in Whey and Sonic Screwdrivers.

I was waiting patiently behind a woman at a Subway. She seemed distracted while ordering, perhaps because of the earbuds she had in her ears. Then her little kid just happens to run by, and accidentally yanks them out.

She said audibly, “Fuck.”

And then slaps her kid on the shoulder, followed by a scolding.

I know parents get frustrated and angry, but there was something very wrong with what I witnessed. Color me so confused when, as they were leaving, she scolded her kid for not saying “thank you”. Really hope the kid doesn’t need too much therapy.
