I was super shocked when I woke up on Friday morning for my weigh in and discovered somehow I lost 4 pounds this week! That’s like 2 weeks worth of losses at once. I don’t think I’ve ever lost that much at once. But I will take it. I have to be careful not to dip my calories too low or overdo it because I’m still planning on breastfeeding for a long time and if my supply suddenly vanished I’d be devastated. The lowest number of calories I’ve eaten is 1500 but I usually eat closer to 1650. So on June 27th I weighed 214.6 and now I weigh 201.8!! I’m super stoked, especially cuz my weigh in for the dietbet is on July 29th and the weight I had to be for that is 202.9 so as long as I continue my efforts I will win no problem. Can’t wait to see how much I win from a $100 bet!! ($133 really since it’s American money). I’m continuing to do well with counting calories and exercising. I find that as long as you tell yourself that you HAVE to hit 10,000 steps a day then you just schedule exercise into your day like something necessary like brushing your teeth before bed.

So far this summer I had been taking the kids out for walks or to the park or to different fun places almost every day. Then last week happened. Cody’s sickness turned out not to be something minor. He had fevers on and off all week and was tired and mostly just lying around with his super stuffed up nose. I kept thinking it would go away and was stressing about it since his birthday party was Saturday but it didn’t so on Friday Mike took him to a walk-in clinic (that was a bit of a fight but I said there’s no way in hell I’m taking my 3 month old to a place with sick people and I had no milk pumped and in the fridge). Turns out he had the start of an ear infection and tonsillitis. So he got some meds and came home. And of course the medicine he has to take is super gross tasting so he absolutely DREADS taking it twice a day (for 10 days) but it is working. I tried a drop of it and it takes like extremely strong peppermint. He also got this mouthwash stuff that he’s supposed to gargle or swish around in his mouth but I can barely get him to do it. He says he doesn’t know how to gargle or swish even though I’ve seen him do it. Sigh…

Friday I was super busy between watching the kids, baking the cake and wrapping a ton of presents since we were celebrating both boys birthday the next day at my family’s annual family reunion. I let Cody pick out what cake he wanted at Bulk Barn…they rent out cake pans. I was fully expecting to make a spiderman cake but he picked Darth Vader! That was not an easy cake to ice! My mom helped me Friday night once the baby was in bed (she goes around 8:30 these days) but she was worse at it than me so I ended up having to fix her work lol. It turned out alright. Once I’d wrapped the kids presents I went straight to bed because I had just spent about 3 hours icing the cake and wrapping presents.

Saturday morning Cody seemed a bit tired but he really wanted to go to his party and his fever came down when he was given medication so we took him. Mike thought it was a bad idea but I told him you can’t just tell a kid he can’t go to his birthday party unless he’s absolutely out of it and throwing up. He ended up having lots of energy and having an amazing day playing with his cousins, his new toys and toys my Dad brought to the family reunion (water guns and kiddie fishing rods with fake fish to catch). Cody’s favorite toy from his birthday was the batmobile and his cat boy mask/cape I bought off etsy (from the show P.J. Masks). Miles’ favorite toy is a plane named Jet from some plane cartoon. I was super busy with the baby and the kids at the family reunion so I felt like I barely got to talk to anyone but that’s life sometimes I guess....on the plus side, I didn’t even have a chance to think about gorging myself on the junk food there lol. All I ate all day there was a sandwich, 2 pieces of KFC that someone brought and a bite of cake. And when I got home my 10,000 steps were already done for the day cuz I’d been so busy.

Yesterday was Cody’s first fever-free day in a week so hopefully this will be a much better week! I felt so trapped inside the house last week. I had to wait until my mom came over or Mike was home just to run out for stuff we needed (like diapers- I was down to my final 2 diapers for the baby at one point!)

Oh and I’m really hoping to weigh in below 200 pounds this Friday!! That would be so awesome....to finally say goodbye to the 200’s forever :)
