The Final Nail in the Coffin in The Stuff That's Not Interesting But Is The Most Interesting Stuff I'll Write

Well, I got the official response from the French Government: they have withdrawn the offer of employment. So I am not going to Paris.

Although I was prepared for this, I’m still extremely disappointed and very emotional. I posted it on Facebook and started getting little responses. I got texts from two friends, Aliesha, an old co-worker of mine, and Sarah, my longest-known friend. They both expressed dismay at the situation.

As Sarah was trying to offer me encouragement, I just said, “I just need time to regroup.” She replied with, “Sure!!” and then I saw the bubble below indicate that she was typing some other reply. I said out loud, “I swear to God, if she brings up her wedding, I will throw this phone across the room.”

So tomorrow I have to go shopping for a new phone… that’s exciting.
