like it doesn't matter in poetry

humility will keep you sane but
it holds you back from taking action
confidence is the opposite twin
confidence can get things done
but leaves your conscience broken
in a cast and up in traction
still humility has failed me, brother
the first having failed me I must try the other
dancing like no one’s watching
is a good first step but
dancing like it doesn’t matter
if any crowds have gathered
is the ultimate actualized goals
dance because it’s all you know how to do
not because of eyes needling you in the hay
to fill some kind of psychic hole
dance like it doesn’t matter either way
dance the way the monks in silence pray
determined for no reason but their own
you can dance your way around the globe
you can dance your way back home
the long way around
you’re gonna be lost until
you no longer worry about being found
