Even the rifle is authentic….but not the color.

My camera is drawn to the color and fuss. Always. Every time. But there is far more to Comic Con than costumes and the fashion Masquerade. One person I admire finds the Con useless…a waste of time. It’s far more than what one sees on the surface.

It gives new artists a chance to show off their work. It gives new writers and beginning artists a chance at a job with a big company. It gives the small press a platform for their wares. It gives the independent bookstore a chance to have their wares seen along with those of the last giant publishers.

Those are just a few small but important reasons beyond the fancy costumes and facades.

Zombies are a cultural thing.

There were a lot of very big, dark men this year.

Headed toward home on the trolley like tired sardines.

  • Himself: He’s still working on his photos. Yesterday got into a Star Trek panel that was giving out models. Dinner pizza and a salad. Just missed Captain Poolie. Home and bed.
  • Herself: Really enjoyed my second day of work in the Portfolio Review area. Saw Preston in the new registration area at the Marriot. He loves it. Bad shoulder and neck ache….Camera? Took Tylenol and less pictures.
  • Gratitudes: That a friend found an extra ticket and that Margot, Zoe, and her best friend could come today.
