Summer is 12 weeks today! How the heck did that happen? I feel like in no time she’s going to be 6 months! Slow down time… I’m trying to enjoy the warm weather and ignore the fact that winter will eventually come again. Yuck! At least I will have a snuggly baby to cuddle. But winter is going to stress me out a bit this year because I know at the end of it I will have to have a job (by April). Not easy when I haven’t had to look for a job in over 10 years! And it has to be a good one that will pay our bills, enable me to see the kids and hopefully sometimes I don’t despise. That doesn’t sound easy to find. But anyways, I don’t want to think about that right now....
I’m doing great at the whole diet/exercise thing. I don’t even feel deprived since I always allow myself treats here and there as long as they fit into my overall calorie allowance. Otherwise I would not be successful. Summer has actually been super clingy lately where I can barely put her down for a second without her crying so at times like that it’s hard to eat at all. It’s like, you shove some food down your throat quickly when you’re hungry and that’s it. She’s getting better though....last night she actually had a nap in her baby chair for a few hours (she hadn’t done this in almost a week and my back was getting soooo sore so I was elated). And lately in the mornings, after sleeping 8 hours in the night she will wake up, have a feeding and play for a bit (and by play I mean smile/coo at us and look around) and then within an hour of when she woke up she’s ready for another nap and she will nap for about 2 hours. So I either go back to sleep with her or stay up like I did today (cuz I was really hungry).
I have been using my fitbit again and trying to get 10,000 steps every day but I haven’t hit that every day. Yesterday I only got to 7,400 by the end of the day but I didn’t care because I was tired and my head felt weird maybe from either a headache coming on or not drinking enough water so I just went to bed instead of trying to get to 10,000. I took the kids on long walks the last 2 days to try to get a lot of steps and to tire them out. We went to the park the first day and the second day we went to the library. It worked well. We all enjoyed some fresh air, they played, then we came home, they had lunch and then a nap at which point I get to relax cuz the baby just nurses herself to sleep. I love that time of day....so peaceful. And I LOVE that Cody is just a couple of weeks away from turning 5 and he still has an afternoon nap with no complaints lol.
I had an awesome time going to a sale at Once Upon a Child on July 2nd and buying some clothes since their summer stock was $1 per item. I even got Summer some cute dresses for the size she is in right now so she could wear them right away cuz really, what is $1? I have spent $10 on junk food and candy before lol. So I spent $25 and came home with a big bagfull of stuff that she can wear this summer and next as well as a few new things for the boys. Cody gets REALLY excited about new clothes lol.
Anyways, with 3 kids, one of them always needs something so I gotta go…will leave you with a few pictures.
