He retired without telling me in Day to Day

I haven’t written for ages I know. I lost the will to write, and I’m not sure why. This is an attempt to start up again, because it was important to me at one time. I thought of three things to write about this morning as I made my way to work.
Firstly, it occurs to me that Chewbacca in Star Wars is unable to speak any human-like language. He communicates with grunts and growls through all the films. So does this mean he can’t pronounce his own name? If so, he can’t even have told Han Solo what his name was. How does that work? There is a plot hole that needs filling here.
Secondly, my barber has retired. I can’t believe he retired without telling me. I went there this weekend only to find a notice in the window saying he was no longer trading. I now have to find a new barber. It’s something that I feel strangely uneasy about. I’ve been going there for 25 years.
Thirdly there has been a news story circulating since last week about a child who managed to get into the gorilla enclosure at a zoo in Cincinnati. The child was unhurt, but a gorilla was shot dead after he dragged the child through a moat. Three sub-stories seem to have emerged from the original. One camp is arguing that the parents of the child were irresponsible to let the child get into the enclosure. That may be a fair argument, but I don’t know the facts. Another camp is blaming the zoo for not securing the enclosure adequately. Again, this may be a fair argument, but i don’t know the facts. Lastly, and most hilariously, people are arguing that the gorilla shouldn’t have been shot because he showed signs of protecting the child. The argument seems to be based on some 30-year-old footage that is doing the rounds on social media which appears to show a similar incident where a child in a gorilla enclosure was unharmed by a very docile gorilla there. To those people I would ask whether their opinion might change if it was one of their children being dragged through a moat by a wild 300 kg animal. Honestly, I’m rapidly coming to the conclusion that nearly everyone is an idiot.
While typing the above, a couple of other things have come to mind. Regarding the EU referendum, I’m on the fence, but I can’t think of much advantage to staying in, so currently I am intending to vote Brexit.
The World Naked Bike Ride is just two weeks away. If you want to see my willy, be in Regents Park on June 10th for the start.
