So, I woke up on Wednesday morning and was doing some last minute stuff to get ready to be at the hospital for 10am. It was a bit tough because I wasn’t allowed to eat or drink anything since my c section was scheduled for 11:45am. I have been super thirsty lately so the not drinking part was the hardest.

At the hospital, Mike and I were put in birthing room to prep me for surgery. I got an IV put in, Mike put his scrubs on and we basically waited. And waited. They were running behind I guess. An hour late I got into the OR. I wasn’t nervous because my c section with Miles was so easy. Well this one was much different. Don’t ask me why. Like, I remember one quick needle in the back with him but this time they took 7 jabs to find the right spot. Ouch! Plus, it’s not only painful but a lot of pressure in your back at the same time and you have to stay absolutely still. Yuck. Then during the procedure I felt a lot more pressure than usual and lots of soreness like someone pushing repeatedly on a sore spot which surprised me. I was crying out in pain here and there so the anesthesiologist kept giving me lots of meds. Felt nauseous at one point, was freaking out a bit. Not fun. I was so relieved when it was all over. I definitely cried when I saw her though. And she’s worth every minute of pain through the pregnancy and birth.

Summer is 7lbs 12oz and 18 inches so she drowns in newborn sleepers. It’s so cute! She has such a tiny face and looks into everyones eyes and has from day 1. I’m really enjoying her as I heal. Slowly getting the hang of having a newborn again. Sore boobies and all lol. And the boys are so fascinated by her. It’s wonderful. Cody more so than Miles.

I’m wearing her in a wrap right now on the couch. As I watch a movie. I overdid it walking around the house yesterday and doing the stairs. I want to be outside in the hot sunshine but I can’t walk far or do much so that will have to wait. The boys are out with Mike. Maybe I will sit on the porch and blow bubbles for them when thry get home :)
