(1) I was able to move stuff into the perm place… hooray
(2) The perm place is nowhere near being finished. There’s no water hooked up; the appliances aren’t set up; the bathrooms aren’t operable.
(3) I said repeatedly yesterday (and to all the workers) Tuesday I’m fine but my wife and my in-laws will be here Tuesday… Tuesday is a day where we need everything to function. Tuesday!
(4) I am, of course, totally okay being in a non functioning place… I unloaded everything into a tiny bedroom and just slept there. One of the workers didn’t realize that so walked in this morning. Luckily… I wasn’t in a compromising position. lol.
(5) Here’s a bit of gross. Between the borderline homelessness episode of this week and now no running water… I haven’t taken a shower since Tuesday. I’m certainly going to need to shower before tonight’s Visitation.
(6) Oh yeah… something funny about leaving for a Visitation/Funeral. Last night I unpacked everything from my car and my office into the tiny bedroom. And then re-packed the car (obviously with considerably less stuff) so that I would have clothes, etc. for the weekend in DM. lol. That just tickled me something fierce.
(7) That’s pretty much it for here. I’m going to try to discuss a plea deal with someone, waiting to hear back on another plea deal (fingers crossed, I just want that case to GO AWAY and so does everyone involved)… then drive to my boss’ office to force her to help me with those damned reports for the week. Then… off to see family, say final farewells to a great man, and spend some time with the wife.

Oh… before I completely leave. Two interesting dreams/nightmares from last night. One of these makes sense… the other… not so much.

First, the nightmare I say nightmare because I woke up knowing it was a nightmare… the dream itself never felt threatening or scary but… upon waking… I just had that nightmare sense.

The dream started like any other… just living life, exploring the dream world. Clearly I was in a tiny town, but not Tiny Town. I can say with confidence that it wasn’t Tiny Town because the Dream Town had a Chinese Restaurant. ANYway… I was alone. Not just I didn’t have friends… I was alone in that I was lonely with no way of relieving that loneliness… a loneliness of both emotional and physical need. I was a regular at the Chinese place and on this particular occasion, it was snowing like crazy. I tried to drive but after fifteen minutes trying to get my car past the driveway; I gave up and walked it. When I arrived, the place was in full swing! Packed, busy, loud. It was as though the entire town had all decided to stay warm inside this one restaurant. But then I noticed that there were some familiar faces. JMC and her husband were there. I waved, they waved. And that was it. Then sitting at another table was Thompson. I walked over, she was sitting mostly alone, but when I tried to approach her or ask to sit with her? She was cold, almost bitchy about it. Fine, screw that. (Armchair psychology would suggest this part of the dream suggests a feeling of isolation even among people). Then I found a nice semi-large table nobody was using. I sat down, ordered my usual… and about the time they were bringing it to me… T2 showed up.

Now… T2 is my first REAL girlfriend. And the only Asian-heritage woman I’ve ever dated. Half-Japanese. In her youth, she had a “stacked but innocent” look to her. Anymore (as she is a successful international Club owner) she looks more “stacked, knowledgeable, and ‘fun”. This version of T2 was certainly the adult version… wearing a brilliant blue cocktail dress, her hair done up… looking splendid. I signaled her over, no point in having a large table to myself, and she came over… her eyes looked… predatory. She sat down, looked at me, and crossed her legs. Her blue high heels instantly caught my eye. We talked, but I was often distracted… looking over to Thompson to see if she was okay. After all, she was still sitting alone and I was worried about her. But… then the conversation with T2 got… interesting? She started mentioning how she regretted breaking up with me. I laughed and said, “We were 16 and inexperienced. Certainly the kind of situation where nobody should apologize for the breakup. I should apologize for how I handled it.” She smiled… a seductive… almost hungry… smile and said, “Yes, but now we’re not inexperienced.” She straightened up again, re-crossed her legs, and said, “Which is too bad really. Were I smarter, I would have enjoyed taking your virginity back then.” I almost choked on my Egg Drop! I tried to smile and play it cool but it wasn’t working. She licked her lips and said, “Want to come back to my place, smoke a Lebijou 1922 and see where the night takes us?” THEN I was able to play it cool. I smiled and said… “Just like you, that seemed to get better with age.”

Then I woke up with that sense of leaving a nightmare. Explain that one!!

Second Dream makes a shitload of sense considering what this weekend is about. The second dream was about an airport and all the family members catching planes out of town. The four odd elements. (1) I couldn’t find my plane ticket anywhere. (2) there was an amusement park inside the airport and my mom kept wanting to go on rides instead of help me stress about not finding my plane ticket. (3) My Godfather told me not to make the connecting flight in Ottawa, instead I was to go meet a business contact of his in Ontario. (4) My late grandmother (yes, Pappy’s wife) showed up to wish us all well… and she could WALK! So… those were all… definitely strange parts of the dream.
