Tempered With Sadness in Everyday Ramblings

This is for Jinn. Lupines in another garden here.

So imagine you have this repetitive task you have to do everyday. It is critical for the thing you need to do. It takes focus and is time consuming and incredibly boring. And you often find yourself doing it for a couple hours a day.

And then imagine it going away. :)

We went live with our process improvement yesterday. It took every ounce of self-restraint I had to not mention in the thank you email to upper management that it took seven years for them to approve and a month to implement.

Saint Joe and I are so excited.

And on top of that my 27 (ish) work cohort Saint Joe just got engaged this week. They’ve been together for seven years so she must be so happy to have it official. The ring set is gorgeous. They want to do this right and they are such practical young people.

I haven’t heard about the poetry contest yet, even though they said early May.

My sister Kes and Most Honorable adopted two boy kittens from The Friends of Felines about 3 ½ years ago. Brothers and littermates, the assumption is that they had different fathers. I guess that is possible with cats. Jack is a big long handsome black guy with serious Siamese genes and the vocal capabilities to prove it.

Impossible to photograph properly.

Leonardo, (Leo) a long haired tabby, adorable, more Maine Coon, sweet, placid, watchful. They escaped a few weeks back and it was a huge trauma for all. Jack managed to get back inside but Leo was wedged under some decking in the back and thankfully cried out when Most Honorable (who he worshiped) called for him.

It was extremely stressful for all concerned. The cats are chipped but not tagged and have not been out during their time in their luxurious and well loved home.

I mentioned to Kes last weekend that I had weighed my guys and she said she was worried about Leo, he seemed to be getting smaller and not eating as much. So she weighed him, and the hesitant but curious furry guy was down over a pound, a lot for a cat.

Hoping it was just a hairball or something like that she took him to the vet.

It wasn’t just a hairball. He was a very sick little dude.

They put him down on Wednesday. We are all so very sad. Jack I think most of all, who is confused. Kes and Most Honorable feel lost. He wasn’t even four yet.

So my joy is tempered with sadness as I head off for yet another dental procedure.
