At last, a beautiful warm spring sunny day, the kind where you can feel the warmth of the sun on your back and you don’t need a coat. That was Thursday and I spent the afternoon in the garden finishing the rose pruning and planting the last tall red primulas.
We had a wonderful day out in Bristol on 21st. We drove down after an early lunch and spent an hour visiting the SS Great Britain, Brunel’s first iron ship.
This is me in the first class dining hall
This is my favourite picture of the day
The houses on the hill remind me of the song Little Boxes
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes all the same
There’s a pink one and a green one
And a blue one and a yellow one
Then in the evening we were off to Colston Hall to see Collabro, a marvellous evening. They were wonderful even better than I had expected and their guest soprano Catriona Murray was a really talented young singer. They did songs from Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera and Catriona sang You’ll Never Walk Alone which has always been a favourite of mine.
The boys took a photo of themselves with the audience behind
We are right at the top on the left!
