The Right White (To get a decent shot) in Everyday Ramblings

Today it is overcast and on the cool side, one still needs a coat even though the UV is strong enough with the glare to fully darken the transitional lens on my glasses the minute I step out there. I took this picture full of rich delicate colors last Friday this time.

The local allergens are at their peak and even though I am most grateful it is spring and the days are longer and today it is dry, every mucus membrane I possess is inflamed and I feel like I could nap for a couple of days straight.

I had training this morning on a computer tool, an add on to the system I am currently using that will reduce significantly the amount of manual cutting and pasting I am doing for reporting purposes. It is very exciting and I can’t wait until we go live with it in a few months.

My brain is full though now. :)

Before they moved Saint Joe and me into our room with a door we were sharing cubes with two women that come in when we are not there. These are not members of the Evil Empire but they do communicate with them and are in their regular orbit but we never see them. Maybe we see them twice a year? The plan was that we move and then when we are not using the office it was available as a couple of hotel spaces. When I came in at my newly scheduled time absurdly early on Wednesday morning I discovered that they had both been moved into the office too, not happily.

I suppose it never occurred to any of the various parties involved to, umm, tell us.

Generally it is fine, but there is some discussion and frustration about a particular chair that I won’t go into. Yesterday our IT analyst came and spent two hours in our room with the door closed hammering out details on a process improvement she is working on and it was absolutely heavenly to be able to look at our actual workstations with all our resources and talk and not bother anyone.

One of the members of the Evil Empire glared intensely at our closed door as she walked by to go visit Nimrod. I guess we were having too much fun. Our door (Adorable) is frosted glass in squares so you can see some detail through it. She and her cohort are now isolated in their cubes among folks they have no particular capital with.

I am not saying a word. La la la la…

I did find out the source of the comments made to management about the fact that I had been getting “special treatment” and need to be reined in. No surprise, it is an unhappy allied member of the Evil Empire that needs to retire but can’t afford to. That is how she knew my schedule to begin with because this is also a person I never see.

I am looking forward to the day I can forget all about every aspect of this situation.

The weekend is almost here and I am looking forward to doing something social (Dinner out and cat play with Kes and Most Honorable), something physical, (I have new online yoga material to review as well as a warming trend to get out and enjoy), something creative (poetry!) and many many chores.

Oh, and pretty pictures of spring to take so I can share with you.
