helper monkey in poetry

I don’t need a helper monkey
but I’d love a co-dependence monkey
who’d just sit beside me and
tell me everything I do is amazing.
The co-dependency monkey would
send out all the bills and
do the taxes and
tell me I am handsome and
send all the proposals and
write all the resumes and
pre-read all rejection letters and
when I’m not making much money
the co-dependency monkey would
work a full-time job to support me.
Oh God I need a co-dependence monkey
I would invent the concept but
I’d need a co-dependence monkey
to help me see the whole thing through.
So you see the fix that I am in.
