My back is slowly healing. I guess. I can get around better but it’s still super painful when I bend certain ways and certain things are really awkward (like getting into bed) and some things I can’t do (like carry Miles and pick things up off the floor). The baby is coming in 15 days now and I am already going to be healing from a c section so it would be nice not to have this back pain on top of it. I’m going to try a chiropractor tomorrow to see if she can help. I only ever went to one once when I was a teenager and it helped so why not? I didn’t even think of a chiropractor until a few people mentioned it because I never go to them. People say they work miracles though so I am optimistic!
My parents are finally on their way back from Florida! We haven’t seen them since December 30th which is an especially long time for kids. My boys miss them so much. I don’t have many friends in town so I am excited to see them for company and to have help with the boys. They are buying me an expensive double stroller soon too so it will be awesome going for lots of walks around town with my mom and the kids. I can’t wait to shed all my baby weight that way! And from breastfeeding of course.
It sucks having a cold still and a sore back but I am still super excited to be having my little girl soon! I bought her clothes a long time ago and have them all ready in her dresser. I also bought a special girly hat with a bow on it for the hospital and a package of headbands with little flowers on them. That’s it though, I haven’t gone overboard buying baby girl accessories. Kind of hard when you are limited with funds. I basically spend my money on bills and necessities these days. I put my severance pay in a special bank account I have and pay my regular account with how much I used to make every 2 weeks so I don’t run through all my money too quickly. But we just had to buy a new laptop and I owe on my taxes this year so money is definitely tight. But I am good at stretching our money. I price match and bought the baby diapers and wipes on a great sale as well as some odds and ends I needed for her with a gift card I had from Christmas. And bought a few things I wanted used (nursing pillow and breast pump). So I haven’t spent a ton on her.
My mom is super excited about the baby too. So it will be nice having her to talk to about baby stuff since Mike is like yup, another baby. He’s happy to have another kid but doesn’t feel a need to talk about it. In a week we are going to pull out the bassinet to put by our bed, install the car seat, set up the playpen in our main room for diaper changes and I will pack the hospital bags. My mom said she will help me make a ton of freezer meals too cuz it’s so much easier to pull stuff out like that for dinner when the baby is little and I am tired and don’t want to cook. Cuz Mike is very limited. He can make burgers and hot dogs on the BBQ, mac and cheese and pasta. That’s about it. My parents filled our freezer with meals when Miles was born but I don’t want to expect them to do it this time. So far I want to make lasagna, shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, chicken with rice and not sure what else :)
