35 weeks in Life as a Mom of 2 boys.....and a girl!!

For some unknown reason, Miles drove us absolutely crazy last night. Once I put him to bed he was constantly calling for us, crying, requesting random things and just saying Mommy for hours. I couldn’t get him to sleep so eventually I went up one last time, told him he needed to sleep and I wasn’t coming up again. He cried loudly for half an hour after that. So we go in again and finally convince him to go to sleep (this was at 10:30. He went to bed at 7). Then he was up at midnight crying nonstop again and refusing to go to sleep. After letting him cry a bit and realizing it wasn’t stopping I went in and convinced him to go to sleep after 15 minutes. We were already asleep at that point so it was really annoying to wake up and have to do that. Ughh. So I think he was either testing us or it had something to do with daylight savings time that just changed the other day.

So after all that I’m tired today. And Cody is home this week for March Break. I let the kids watch a bit of TV in the morning and then turn it off and they plsy with toys and do activities. Yesterday we were playing with mega bloks and lego for a while and I also pulled out a Dora color wonder book for some coloring. Today, they are building towers and stuff with blocks again and I will pull out the play dough later.

I just made Pillsbury crescent rolls as a treat. They’re delicious with butter. Did I mention I’m tired? Ughhhh. Definitely having a nap when the kids nap today. I’m still trying to get rid of a cold I have had for 3 weeks and yesterday out of the blue my throat became really sore. Feels like knives in my throat when I swallow. Tea and the oatmeal I had for breakfast helped a bit. I hope this isn’t a new cold.

My kids fight a lot these days. It’s mostly Cody suddenly wanting to play with a toy Miles has or trying to boss Miles around. Then he calls Miles mean and freaks out. Age 4 is not an easy age! Cody is so touchy these days. Everything makes him upset, he calls Mike and I meanies all the time and he is defiant at times. It’s frustrating. He was so much nicer to Miles when Miles was a baby.

29 days til baby Summer is here! I ordered her some baby headbands with bows on them today off Amazon. I only have a couple and the set I bought has 18 different colors to match different colored outfits. Should be cute! I am also excited for my parents to come home soon after being in Florida all winter. It’s so nice to see them and to have company. They will be here April 1st. I am going to ask my mom to spend a day with me making freezer meals for when the baby is born. They filled our freezer with meals like this just before I had Miles but I don’t expect them to do it again.
