Sad to hear of two deaths today - Cliff Michelmore - who I seem to have grown up with on tv - at the age of 94 - really was part of the ‘golden age’ of UK tv - but few have remembered that he presented something called Two -Way Family Favourites on radio in the 1950s on a Sunday lunchtime - a record request programme linked to forces families in West Germany - and he married his co-presenter Jean Metcalfe.

and the magician Paul Daniels - who could not disguise his toupee for many years - but a consummate entertainer - a brain tumour at 77.
