A story for another time. in A small but passable life.

For a couple of days there it was too windy and cool to lay by the pool so I ran errands.
I wandered around Walmart for two hours while Mom had her mani/pedi done. I didn’t see anything I wanted to buy even if I had money to piss away. I almost grabbed a ten-pack of Pilot G-2 07 Fine pens for $11.97, which is a bargain, but I remembered that I have an unopened five-pack in my carry-on. There was also a nice large 400 page journal with a faux leather cover for $9.97. But yeah, I’ve got blank journals, spiral notebooks, legal pads, and a Moleskine, all with enough blank pages to last me at least this lifetime.
I went out later to the grocery store. I stuck fast and hard to the shopping list and got out of there for $20.64. Anyone notice the coffee going from 30.5 ozs to 24.2 ozs, along with the price going up?
It’s the hidden inflation in the system. Smaller net weights with higher prices. The last time Daughter called she told me about seeing the Oreo package shrink to about half the size it used to be. Crazy I tell ya!
Anyway, things here are the same. I’ve won the last two Tuesdays at Rummikub. My hair is almost long enough for a ponytail, but it would be a thin one. And I think my hair may be going from grey to white. Or maybe blonde from the sun. There’s those shades of color again . . .
There will, hopefully, be no more political comments. This country will either burn slow or it will burn fast. As long as the people have their bread and circuses. And, I guess, their gadgets to access them?

Anyway, I’ve won approximately 2.21 million dollars on The Price Is Right. I just wish I could spin the wheel!
I’m really getting tired of the commercials. Two goals there- for the women it’s “something is wrong with you” and we can fix it; and for the guys it’s let us help you “get laid more”. So sickening and transparent, at least to me.
Blame it on the Green Monster Mind Meld.
What?
A story for another time.
Ciao.
