...question! in A small but passable life.

I finished reading “Battlefield America” by John W. Whitehead. We, as a country are definitely heading into a new paradigm.
Related to the book but gleaned from elsewhere is the fact that this election brings but two choices: continue the destruction of America in the same way or destroy it in a new way. Either way, the end is nigh.
I caught up on Grey’s Anatomy. Should be able to watch it weekly now.
I found six used Stephen King novels. Three hardback and three paperback, for Daughter’s collection. Paid a total of $5.50.
Today was a cool (70 degrees) and breezy day. I didn’t go to the pool. I went over to the little library here in the RV park to peruse the shelves. Nothing new has been added since last year. Sad.
I’m missing my solitude. And my silence. I’m about ready to cross the road south of the park and walk into the desert and find a nice place to sit all day. Seriously. The TV. The phone ringing. I’m afraid though that one day would turn into a week or more.
Honestly, I would rather live outdoors. Sleep outdoors. At least when the temperature is perfect. Like right now.
What’s with these walls with all these ninety degree right angles? This can’t be natural. No wonder there’s so much mental illness. I’m feeling diseased and I know I ain’t crazy. Maybe a bit batshit but not certifiable.
Sorry. I was reading a bit of Parmenides of Elea (c.515-c.456 B.C.) this morning:
“The other, that IT IS NOT, and that it must needs not be, - that, I tell you, is a path that none can learn at all.”
But why can’t I learn it? I blame it on all this useless day-to-day living stuff. I’m in the middle of a juicy sentence and the phone rings, with some nonsense that needs my attention immediately. It could wait, but it won’t. It has to be dealt with before it can then be forgotten about again. At least until it intrudes once again. Whatever.
Was it fate or did I really flip a coin at every fork in the road?
Now, that’s an interesting question!
