neon and silver in poetry

I used to believe in things like silver linings
I used to believe in things like me and you
at night in my dreams it’s always New York City
even if changing that were something I could do
I wouldn’t

my mind and memories are not quite an attic
my mind and memories are not quite adequate
my mind and memories darkened and aquatic
kitty corner from Penn Station sits the Tick Tock Diner
in my nightmares and my dreams
that’s where I tick the time away
until I wake up
