Forgot a book! in A small but passable life.

So, I write two entries and forget to mention that I’ve finished reading “Lights Out” by Ted Koppel. It was an eye opening book. I’ve thought about the premise often but Koppel really researched it. The power grid is the weakest link in the chain of technology holding a modern society together. You might even say it’s the foundation. No one is prepared for life without it. Not even the Amish.

One of the Supremes has died. For thirty years Scalia has held back life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for the nation’s people for his own pursuit of misogyny, racism, homophobia, corporatism and a sadistic need to execute retarded people, innocent people and children.

There are four other Supremes with his views that need to go to save this country.

Okay, enough of the political crap.

It has been a week since Daughter called. I know she’s always busy, but still, neglect me?

And speaking of phones, we killed Mom’s Verizon plan. It had just went from $80 a month to $90 a month. She has a Galaxy 5 smart phone so she can still use it to get on the wifi to play her games, check her email and to dial 911 if she has to. And that leaves the landline which is free with the park dues, but only free outgoing to three area codes which is basically all of Phoenix. All other long distance is ten cents a minute. All incoming is free of course.

Me? I haven’t had a phone plan (Straight Talk) in years. I left my phone with Jassy because I don’t use it and besides, it’s really hers because she had bought it for me about five years ago. It’ll need a new SIM card to activate it so if her phone finishes crapping out she can use it until she gets a better phone. Besides, aren’t flip phones the coolest? You know they are! (Don’t worry ladies, I deleted all the tittie pics you’ve sent me!)

I could only do three hours at the pool yesterday, 11am until 2pm. Even with the little bit of breeze the sun was BAKING!

The ten day forecast has been revised. Now it is predicted to be 91 degrees on Wednesday. The first 80 degree day of the year was only about a week ago.

10am right now and it’s 28 degrees back home and 70 degrees here. Yep, I am feeling a bit smug.

I found a cheap little camera in one of Mom’s cabinets. I may try to mess around with it a bit. It’s about the same quality that the camera at home has, crappy, but good enough for the home movies I’ve already posted to my youtube channel.

There are some primo sunsets here reflected onto the Flatiron that I’d like to time-lapse if I can.

Anyway, one more cup of coffee and I need to pack up and head to the pool. I’ve got a big fat book of short stories by my favorite author to read and some UV rays to soak up.
