the good stuff in poetry

Getting up and performing for a
crowd of strangers is like sex.
It’s gonna be fast and terrible
the first few times you try it.
Stick with it. Get to the good stuff.
You can only learn so much about it
doing it into a mirror
alone in your bedroom
just like sex.
Get out there and find someone to do it for
get out there and find someone to do it with
after a couple of years
you might be great at it.
Either way
it’s a better way to kill your time
than watching television or
having a day job.
Keep at it. Get to the good stuff.
