Snow plow drama, lights
Action, fresh snow fall bent to
Caterpillar’s will.
*
I met the plow this morning right above the hill in front of the house. It had snowed another five or six inches of light fluffy, cold temperature snow during the night. It was still dark and I was surprised to see lights coming around the corner. No doubt the plow driver was too. I edged to the right and stopped, figuring he understood the road better than I did.
It was the regular road maintainer equipped with a front blade and a side wing and bright bright lights in all directions. I expected he would go around me and the ice cream truck and I could drive in his plowed path to the highway. Instead he backed up and turned around in a field driveway and went back the way he came, clearing the other side of the road and the pushing the snow back into the ditches.
I followed him to the highway. It was very dramatic. There was the snow from yesterday and the snow from last night. I wished I had my camera, though of course I needed to pay some attention to my driving. I followed too closely up the big hill, and when he slowed at the top, I was wishing I had had a little more momentum to clear the top of the hill.
But it all was good. Exciting.
A little like this:\
Except more snow, much steeper hills and in the dark.
