So… this will piss people off; but when I saw it… I laughed. I know it isn’t the same thing… Oscars are supposed to be for all races, BET not so much. But… I still find this funny. I do try to be sensitive to racial matters; but the Oscar Boycotts need to be discussed. I support anger and frustration that all white actors and actresses were nominated. But people demanding Chris Rock back out of his hosting duties (last minute) because of it? People boycotting the Oscars because no black actors/actresses were nominated? When the whole thing broke, I shrugged it off. I thought: People… it is the Academy Awards. Denzel didn’t win for playing an awesome Malcolm X but did win for playing a Crooked Cop; Driving Miss Daisy won the 62nd Academy Award for Best Picture against Dead Poets Society.... surprise old corrupt white people in Hollywood may not be the most progressive in their movie selections. I thought the outrage was a bit ridiculous but would be short lived. I was wrong. It is spiraling. And it worries me… because it is indicative of what has been going on in America for the last year (or two). NOTHING racial is ever “just a thing.” EVERYTHING racial has to become a giant major issue.

With that… I think that is why I found this funny, even though I knew it would be offensive.
