Getting 'er done! in A small but passable life.

Okay, okay, okay. Yesterday was a productive day. I got everything picked up, packed up, and piled up. I got my carry-on packed. I may need to re-pack it to make sure there is nothing extra in there. I started a list but veered off it a bit.

Forty-eight hours from now I should be waiting at the airport. I’ll be there two hours early, I hope.

I’ve got the timeline down: Today I’ll do the final tweaking to my packing. Early tomorrow morning I’ll take a final walk to the library and make sure everything is set. Tomorrow afternoon I’ll print out my boarding pass (maybe Daughter can do it between classes?). I’ll do a load of laundry. Thursday morning I’ll pack up my bedding and take a shower and shave. Then I’ll sit and wait on Daughter for my ride to the airport.

Friday afternoon I may be lying by the pool.

It was ten years ago that I flew out to be with Mom during her first Christmas without Dad. We drove up and spent Christmas Day and the day after at the Grand Canyon. It was a perfect trip.

I then flew on to Portland, Oregon to spend New Year’s with Deb. We drove out to the coast to spend a few days at the beach house on Long Beach. (Where I got hit with a rogue wave and was almost washed out to sea!)

I did all that while I was unemployed and on unemployment. And I came back to the Ozark’s and remained unemployed for five more months.

So yeah, for not traveling much I seem to travel quite a bit.

I’m hoping to get Mom set up with some reliable, dependable home care. She’s been paying a fortune in premiums for Long Term Care Insurance. It does pay for in home care, but I haven’t delved into the details of the coverage. I guess it is time to do that.

Here’s something creepy. A week or so ago I got bored and started playing with Google Earth on my tablet. I typed in the address here. The overhead view of the house only revealed one corner of the house because of the trees, even though it was a Winter time shot. But when I switched to Street View it showed a green freshly mowed front yard, a corner of the house because of the bushes. and . . . the van sitting in the driveway! WTH? So, last summer a Google car drove past and snapped a picture? I had no idea this was an ongoing thing.

Bear with me a bit for a bit more politics. Just one question. Are there really that many absolutely stupid, ignorant, and delusional people in this country to support the asshats on the republican ticket? How is this possible?

So far the proposals put forth are ludicrous, to put it mildly: repeal ACA, build a border wall, deport all undocumented aliens, allow no muslims to enter the country, repeal the Iran deal, invade Iran, carpet bomb ISIS, outlaw abortion, keep marijuana a Schedule 1 drug, increase military spending, reduce all other spending, and on, and on, and on.

You just can’t make this shit up! This pack of dumbasses make George W. Bush look like a genius. (George did have a great idiot face though!)

Anyway, I’ve got to get up out of this chair and do something.
