FOODOLOGY

What is your salad dressing of choice?
Does chilli sauce count?

What is your favorite sit-down restaurant?
YuMe is pretty cool.

What food could you eat every day for two weeks and not get sick of?
Chinese crispy duck maybe. Or shredded chilli beef and fried rice.

What are your pizza toppings of choice?
Ham and pineapple I like ground beef too.

TECHNOLOGY

How many televisions are in your house?
One, and I sometimes think that’s too many.

What color is your cellphone?
It has a plastic protective case with cartoony “Zap” and “Pow” and the like all over it. It’s silver grey underneath.

Do you have an iPod?
I do have a first generation iPod, which I loved, but I don’t use any more because my phone does the job.

Are you right-handed or left-handed?
Right handed

Have you ever had anything removed from your body?
Tonsils, appendix, a lump from my knee.

What is the last heavy item you lifted?
Maybe our green house which I had to retrieve after if flew across the garden.

Have you ever been knocked unconscious?
No.

BULLOLOGY

If it were possible, would you want to know the day you were going to die?
I don’t think so. Maybe I’d like a week to prepare, but no longer than that.

If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
I could change my name if I wanted to, and I haven’t. My family name is a bit boring.

Would you drink an entire bottle of hot sauce for $1000?
I think I would, after consuming alcohol.

FAVORITOLOGY

Season?
Summer.

Holiday?
Christmas is OK, but it isn’t magical like it was. I think I’ve had some good Valentines days too, but it works much better for rampant teens than married middle aged men. I quite like firework night. No stress in the build up. Quite nice to watch, and one of the only good things about winter.

Day of the week?
I like Sundays because it’s the only day when there is nothing pre-destined the same every week.

Month?
July is quite good because it’s my birthday month. I like summer in general though.

CURRENTOLOGY

Missing someone?
Often think of my dad. He’s been gone 8 years now.

Mood?
I’ve got a Friday vibe going on. Somewhere between shagged out and relieved. It’s been quite a challenging week.

What are you listening to?
Jazz24.org. Bill’s Blues by Bill O’Connell.

Current worry?
I have to bail early from work to get to the boy’s martial arts graduation night. He gets his black belt tonight. I want to slip out quietly.

RANDOMOLOGY

First place you went this morning?
The station to come to work I suppose.

What’s the last movie you saw?
The dragon and I went on a date and saw The Martian.

OTHER-OLOGY

How many pairs of flip flops do you own?
None, but I do have some green croc things if they count.

Last time you had a run-in with the cops?
Couple of years ago, I was just standing on the path on Westminster Bridge minding my own business and I was threatened with arrest.

To be fair, I was naked at the time.

Last person you talked to?
Zayat at work. He wanted advice on goal setting.

The last person you hugged?
Either the boy or the dargon before leaving for work.

Do you always answer your phone?
I have a very cool app on my phone which checks the calling number against a database to see if it’s a known junk caller and if it is someone wanting to help me claim for the accident I don’t remember having, I don’t answer. I answer all other times.

It’s four in the morning and you get a text message, who is it?
Probably someone from the Taiwanese side of my family.

If you could change your eye colour what would it be?
Ah, now that is an interesting question because I actually have one blue eye and one green eye. As a child I was embarrassed by it, but now, I consider it very cool indeed.

Do you own a digital camera?
My wife is team photographer. I use the camera in my phone, which is pretty good.

Have you ever had a pet fish?
We had goldfish when we had an apartment in Taipei, and little turtles.

Favorite Christmas song?
Not a fan of Christmas music.

What’s on your wish list for your birthday?
I want a ukulele banjo.

Can you do push ups?
Yes, I trained with the boy for his black belt. It was more difficult than I remember.

Can you do the splits?
Not for about 40 years.

Does the future make you more nervous or excited?
I suspect I am going through a mild mid life crisis. I genuinely loath getting older now. That doesn’t mean the future is without excitement.

Do you have any saved texts?
Loads I haven’t bothered to delete. I’m not specially saving anything

Have you ever been in a car accident?
Yes, wrote off a spitfire and a Jaguar on separate occasions. The Jaguar was down to extreme tiredness. The Spitfire was a Volvo pulling out in front of me.

Do you have an accent?
No, I speak like James Bond

What is the last movie to make you cry?
Chick question

Plans tonight?
Going to watcvh the boy get his black belt then probably take them out for food.

Have you ever felt like you hit rock bottom?
I have suffered with depression in the past and had a breakdown.

Name 3 things you bought yesterday?
Ugly Christmas jumper, junk food from the vending machine, nothing else as far as I remember.

Have you ever been given roses?
Chick question again. I have been given flowers, but I can’t remember what they were. I buy flowers quite often.

Met someone who changed your life?
Nearly everyone you meet changes you in some way. My whole life changed when I met my wife.

What song represents you?
When I feel low, I listen to the Showmen, Rock and Roll Will Stand. That pretty nearly always put me back up. If I need to slow down I listen to John Lee Hooker singing Waterfront with Van Morrison. I seldom listen to either unless it’s important. I don’t want the magic to run out.

Would you go back in time if you were given the chance?
I would want to be able to return, but yes. I’d definitely puit this Jesus thing to rest.

Have you ever dated someone longer than a year?
Been married for 11 years. We were dating for 3 I suppose. I lived with someone before her.

Do you have any tattoos/piercings?
Yes a piercing, it was a bet.

Does anyone love you?
One hopes so.

Would you be a pirate?
I think I’d have made an epic pirate. I’m tough and resourceful.

What songs do you sing in the shower?
I sometimes hum things I’m trying to learn on ukulele

Do you like to cuddle?
Not very tactile. The boy like s a hug every so often though.

Don’t think so.

Who was the last person you took a picture of?
Myself wearing the ugly jumper

Do you like pulpy orange juice?
Not specially. It’s OK.
