I am in awe
long enough to stare at it
I’ve seen it long before
with a mind so ancient

Yes, it is it
white as snow in The Antarctic
thawing per cubit
defeated by this earth’s rising heat

like a piece of paper without the stroke of a pen
or fabric without stains
Oh, how I miss it
‘though not all will return as a clean slate

Once upon a time,
that is just the colour
of the hearts of all living mortals…
