Work Style Conundrums.... when I woke up this morning… I was super tired. So I thought about it and decided… if my department’s budget crazy lady is going to freak out at labor expenses… I’ll just go back to sleep. I have no requirements to spend X amount of time in the Law Library… so screw it. Of course… I know full well my Boss won’t be happy about that. He relies on me to be “the knowledgeable one” and to take care of the Law Library in case things go wrong. And while that deeply effects my sense of honor and makes me feel like I’m letting someone down… a larger portion of me thinks: Nope. Paid in peanuts and still freaking out about budget… I don’t owe them my best.
And… going back to sleep had me sleep until 3 pm. Weird. Probably depression mixed with winter, I’d guess?
If my boss asks me why I didn’t come into work, I’ll just say I spent the day Job Hunting.
After my epic bout of sleep… I realized that I seriously needed a shave and a haircut before my interview on Friday. AND my new glasses (with new Rx) came in. So… appearance overhaul and a new lease on sight!
Plus I got a voicemail from Webster County hoping to interview me. That’s something. Blackhawk… yeah. Maybe it’ll turn into something but I have very little hope. Fort Dodge? At least that is more of a possibility!
OOf. When I finally got my new glasses on? Took ‘em off right away. The left eye is a significantly stronger Rx. Wife will be happy, she’s noticed that my eyesight has steadily worsened the last two years and really wanted me to get stronger glasses… but it will certainly take some getting used to.
Finally: IS THERE A POWERBALL WINNER? Translation: Does someone now have enough money to BUY a country?
Winning Numbers: 4, 8, 19, 27, 34 and the powerball is 10
Aaaaand… no, I didn’t get any money. lol. Though… watching the news for the numbers? DAMMIT… Omaha is so full of freaking crime!
An attempt at a savvy political quote: Even as we break down into divided classifications; we’re still only focusing on the classifications. If we can see people as individuals, not as belonging to an arbitrary group, but as an individual… then we can be more empathetic, more genuine, and more Human.
