Does anyone remember my VERY FIRST interview after passing the bar? Allllll the way back in May of 2015? It was with Blackhawk County. The county where I went to college, met my wife. The county that is adjacent to my Best Friend and my In Laws. Does anyone remember what they told me at the interview? “Sorry to drag you all the way out here. This is mostly just a courtesy posting as we’re looking to hire one of our interns.”

Yet… they posted a job opening again in October. I put up my resume… received no phone call for an interview.

They posted a job opening again in December. I put up my resume… I got a phone call that they wanted to schedule an interview.

It is VERY hard not to just instantly think “FUCK YOU, Blackhawk!” Something in me is CERTAIN that this is another courtesy interview… that I’ll drive ALL the way out there just to be summarily dismissed… again. But… I’m also in a position where I have to do every interview.
