Winter evening walk
Bottom of Joana’s hill
Gracie leaps and bounds.
*
Gracie wears herself out. No half-measures for our Gracie. This morning she caught a front foot in her milk jug - in the handle. Jim had to help her out. She’s outside now barking - either at coyotes or at the echo of her own barking across the valley.
She and I took off and had a nice walk when I got home today. Fair amount of energy for both of us. When we got back Jim was feeding calves and I helped fill and carry buckets and opened and closed the gate when he took a bale of hay into the calves’ pen. It’s been a long time since I’ve done that much. It’s been a week without sugar, etc. We will see.
I cooked supper, nothing fancy, brat patties and potatoes and corn. And now - guess what? I’m tired. I feel good though. Full of fresh air. Temp is about 10 F right now. The creeks will freeze pretty quick at that rate.

I have pictures to show you but photobucket is not working during prime time. I uploaded some pictures last night and they got there but there was no way to get them over here to show you. This morning when I got up I think I could have done it but I didn’t have enough time. Sorry.
I didn’t take the camera tonight. I saw a good picture that could have been taken. A milkweed plant with open seed pods and fluff silhouetted against the evening sky. I consoled myself with the thought that it will still be there tomorrow. Further consolation in a perverted way is the fact that photobucket won’t let me show you anyway.
No wonder I didn’t get very many notes on yesterday’s entry. I saved it Private. I re-saved it Public a bit ago - so if this is the first one you see, you can go back and look at yesterday’s if you want to. No pressure. I’m sure it’s possible to get enough of me.

Early morning of the next day. I’m trying to get Photobucket to put put a few pictures. Maybe if I capitalize its name it will feel respected and work for me.
These were taken Sunday afternoon. It was a bit warmer then.
You can tell two things -we have been having rain because the creeks are still running and we haven’t been having a very cold winter because the creeks are still running - not frozen yet.
