I don’t really check my email on my phone. But when I look down and see YOUR DOMINOS ORDER, I go “uh. I didn’t order any Dominos.” So I check my gmail. I glance down at the pizza. Then I notice the carry-out address.
Massachusetts. I live in New Jersey.
Having been on the other side of the phone, it’s a bit easier to call places of business. After all, in this case, it’s not their fault. I explained the situation to the girl on the other end of the phone. I was ready to be all “check their ID and catch this mofo!” (The order name was mine.) She said that if they cancelled the order, I’d get comped the free pizza.
This is almost a best-case scenario. If the compensation doesn’t go through, I know how retail is. If I call explaining the situation, their goal is to throw free stuff at people. I’ve been using domino’s online ordering system for years, and every single one has been in Jersey. Not to mention, since I cancelled the order, I’m assuming they wouldn’t serve it to customers. (Free food in the back for employees! Woo!) So even if I was in Massachusetts and changed my mind, I still wouldn’t have gotten a pizza.
My credit card wasn’t charged, so I’m not bugged. (Dealing with credit card companies is anal sex without lube.)
Hrm. Thought this was amusing and I had more to say.
What really gets me is, well. If you’re going to hack my account, why not use the stored credit card and go wild? (And yes, I changed my password.)
